Enrollment Policy

New students interested in enrolling in classes for the 2024-2025 school year at Fomkin Ballet Academy are welcome to sign up in our Family Portal. Please email us (fomkinballetacademy@gmail.com) if you have any registration questions.

PRE-BALLET DIVISION

Please sign up in our Family Portal first to enroll in our Ballet Beginner program. Then, select the option which works best for you.

UPPER DIVISION

All prospective Upper Division students (age 10 and above) must undergo a PLACEMENT AUDITION to ensure they are correctly placed within our programs. The faculty at Fomkin Ballet Academy thoroughly evaluates all aspects before accepting students into our Upper Division classes.

Please register for the audition online (you can select the option “Schedule Trial” at a day and time that works best for you). You will receive the invitation for the Audition. The audition fee is $40 and can be paid in cash before the class. Please email us (fomkinballetacademy@gmail.com) if you have any questions regarding placement. Once you are positioned correctly, you will be sent an invitation to register for class through the Family Portal. Students will be promoted/placed in class/program according to their progress and ability, not grade and age alone.

For the Pre-Ballet and Upper divisions, the tuition rates for the 2024-2025 period reflect the total number of classes attended per week by all students, which is averaged over the period, excluding national holidays. The tuition remains the same regardless of the number of classes in a month. The payment is to be made monthly without exception.

A group must have at least four students enrolled to remain on the schedule. If a group is not completed, we will ensure that all the enrolled students are placed in another group at their level.

UPPER DIVISION: Each person's audition non-refundable fee (TRIAL CLASS) is $40. You can pay it in cash before the audition. Attendance for the audition is limited to once.

For households with multiple enrolled children, a 10% discount is applied to the tuition of all children.

The annual non-refundable registration fee for every student is $99.00. There is no annual registration fee for adult classes.

The non-refundable registration fee for Winter Intensive programs is $25.00. There is no additional registration fee for FBA-enrolled students.

Space will be held for students upon payment of the registration fee.

Due to limited classroom space, Fomkin Ballet Academy does not offer make-up classes, credits, or refunds for missed classes. We also do not prorate tuition for missed lessons. Enrolling at the beginning of the school year ensures your place for the entire education period. However, tuition will be prorated by month for students enrolling mid-year.

This specially designed program blends classical ballet and fitness elements. “Ballet Barre & Grace” is more than just a way to stay physically fit; it also serves as a source of psychological balance, emotional well-being, and spiritual enrichment.

1. Physical Fitness and Flexibility:

Ballet helps maintain body flexibility, posture, and muscle tone. It enhances joint mobility and preserves the elasticity of ligaments and muscles. The focus on proper posture and body alignment in ballet strengthens the back and abdominal muscles, contributing to a youthful physique and helping to prevent or slow down age-related changes.

2. Muscle Strength and Tone:

Ballet exercises involve using your body weight, which strengthens the legs, glutes, back, and abs muscles. This not only keeps the body toned but also helps counteract age-related changes.

3. Brain Stimulation:

The process of memorizing and performing complex movements, maintaining self-control of the body, rhythm, and music, and receiving corrections from the instructor stimulates cognitive functions, enhancing memory and concentration.

4. Coordination and Balance:

Ballet enhances coordination and balance, which helps prevent injuries in daily life, improves gait, and reduces the risk of falls.

5. Improved Body Awareness:

Ballet demands awareness and control of every movement, helping you better understand your body and improve your self-image.

6. Cardiovascular Benefits:

While ballet exercises may not appear as intense, they significantly improve cardiovascular function, which is especially important for maintaining good health after age 30.

7. Mental Health:

Ballet classes help reduce stress levels and improve mood by focusing on movement and music, providing a welcome distraction from everyday life.

8. Cultural and Aesthetic Development:

Ballet nurtures a sense of beauty, fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of art, and provides inspiration and self-expression.

9. Self-Discipline and Confidence:

Regular training cultivates self-discipline and boosts self-confidence, positively impacting all areas of life.

10. Social Connections:

Participating in group ballet classes allows connecting with like-minded women, fostering new friendships, and building a supportive community.
