Enrollment Policy

Fomkin Ballet Academy follows a structured seasonal schedule, similar to a school year, from August 4, 2025, through May 30, 2026. New students interested in enrolling in 2025-2026 school year classes are welcome to follow the sign-up links below. Please email us (fomkinballetacademy@gmail.com) if you have any registration questions.

BALLET VAGANOVA 1 (ages 7-10)

BALLET VAGANOVA 2 (ages 11-14+)

FOLK DANCE (COMPANY) (ages 10-14)

All prospective students (age 11 and above) must undergo a PLACEMENT AUDITION to ensure they are correctly placed within our programs. The faculty at Fomkin Ballet Academy thoroughly evaluates all aspects before accepting students into our Upper Division classes.

Please register for the audition online by following the link (you can select a day and time that works best for you). You will receive the invitation for the Audition. The audition fee is $40 and must be paid before the audition. Please email us (fomkinballetacademy@gmail.com) if you have any questions regarding placement. Once you are positioned correctly, you will be sent an invitation to register for class through the Family Portal. Students will be promoted/placed in class/program according to their progress and ability, not grade and age alone.

2025-2026 BALLET PERFORMANCE PARTICIPATION (ages 6-18+)

All prospective show participants (age 6 and above) must undergo a PLACEMENT AUDITION to ensure they are correctly placed within our show rehearsal groups.

Please register for the audition online by following the link. You will receive the invitation for the Audition. The audition fee is $25 and must be paid before the audition. Please email us (fomkinballetacademy@gmail.com) with any questions regarding the show participation placement. Once you receive the invitation, you will receive a link to register for rehearsals through the Family Portal. Participants will be selected in rehearsal groups according to their skill level, not grade and age alone.

EXCLUSIVE PROGRAM FOR ADULT STUDENTS, “BALLET BARRE & GRACE” (Los Gatos, CA) (18+)

To enroll, please sign up on the Family Portal. Then, select one or more drop-in classes at a convenient date and time. 

DROP-IN is $60. Classes must be paid for in cash or via PayPal/Zelle/Venmo before the class.

2025-2026 COMPETITION TEAM PARTICIPATION 

The competition preparation season begins annually on April 1st. Determining the potential participation of an enrolled student in a competition (based on the student’s or their representative’s or parent’s proposal and in consultation with the Artistic Director), Fomkin Ballet Academy establishes a consistent monthly schedule for conducting private lessons.  Private lessons are arranged through mutual agreement between the Fomkin Ballet Academy, the student, and their legal guardian or parent. Students interested in joining the Fomkin Ballet Academy Competition Team may inquire about the Competition Team Agreement.

Please take note of the following dress code for the audition:

– Girls should wear a leotard of any color, along with pink ballet shoes and tights.

Boys are expected to wear a solid-colored leotard or fitted T-shirt, black or grey tights, and black or white ballet shoes.

– Students who do not identify as male or female can choose from the above options.

– Please avoid wearing warm-ups, skirts, or baggy clothing.

The tuition rates for the 2025-2026 period reflect the total number of classes attended per week by all students, which is averaged over the period, excluding national holidays. The tuition remains the same regardless of the number of classes in a month. The payment is to be made monthly without exception.

A group must have at least four enrolled students to remain on the schedule. If a group is not completed, we will ensure that all the enrolled students are placed in another group at their level. 

BALLET VAGANOVA 2, 3: Each person’s audition non-refundable fee is $40. The payment should be made before the audition. Attendance for the audition is limited to once

The annual non-refundable registration fee for every student is $125.00. There is no annual registration fee for adult classes. The registration fee should be paid once the student enrolls to secure the spot.

The non-refundable registration fee for BALLET PERFORMANCE PARTICIPATION solely is $30.00. There is no additional registration fee for FBA-enrolled students. Space will be held for students upon payment of the registration fee. 

Due to limited classroom space, Fomkin Ballet Academy does not offer make-up classes, credits, or refunds for missed classes. We also do not prorate tuition for missed lessons. Enrolling at the beginning of the school year ensures your place for the entire education period. However, tuition will be prorated by month for students enrolling mid-year.

CANCELLATION POLICY

1. Cancellation Notice: 

Students are expected to commit to the entire school year upon enrollment. If you need to withdraw from classes, you commit to provide written notice at least 30 days before the desired withdrawal date. 

All private lesson cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson. This allows us to offer the time slot to another student or transfer the lesson to another time.

Ballet Performance Participants are expected to commit to the entire rehearsal cycle upon enrollment. If you need to withdraw from Ballet Performance Participation, you commit to provide written notice at least 14 days before the desired withdrawal date. 

2. Late Cancellations: A fee of 50% of the lesson cost will be charged for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the lesson.

3. No-Shows: Students who do not attend their scheduled lesson or rehearsal without prior notice will be charged the full lesson fee.

4. Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule a private lesson, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.

5. Emergency Situations: We understand that emergencies may arise. In such cases, please contact us as soon as possible. We will evaluate each situation on a case-by-case basis.

6. Payment Terms: All tuition payments are due by the specified deadlines. Late payments may incur additional fees. To secure your booking, you must pay for all private lessons in advance. As per this policy, payment is non-refundable for missed lessons.

7. Late Drop-Out Penalty: Any student who withdraws from the program after completing the 30-day probation period following enrollment must pay a penalty fee equal to 100% of their monthly tuition. This fee is non-refundable and will be charged with any outstanding balances.
